I’m originally from the Israeli town of Maccabim Re’ut near Modiin, and now I live in Herzliya with my wife Tav and our dog Layla, which we adopted six years ago. I love dogs, and I love to be outdoors, go to the beach or jog. Also, I like to read, mainly books about mindfulness, self-improvement, and astrophysics. And recently, I started playing oud, a traditional Middle Eastern stringed instrument.

Since I can remember, I was always interested in economy, how it’s shifting the world, so I decided to learn economics and business administration at Reichman University.

I gained my first real work experience in a student position at an investment house. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I started working for KPMG in the financial risk department, with financial companies, banks, venture capital firms, private equity firms, and investment houses, consulting them about mitigating various risks related to finance. While working there, I started my master’s degree at Tel Aviv University, an MBA with a specialty in business analytics and data science. Soon after, I decided to leave KPMG – to be honest, because I wanted a faster-paced and more data-rich environment. I found it here at Webbing.

Having the time of my life at Webbing

I wanted to be a business analyst. I pursued this specific role, talked to friends and colleagues, searched on LinkedIn, found a lot of roles and started to apply. In the end, I had to choose between three companies. I felt that Webbing had much more potential to keep expanding and growing, as it brings new ideas to the world and has an interesting technology in an interesting domain – telecommunications and the IoT space which is exploding around the world. I chose Webbing mainly because I wanted to be a part of it all.

I was also considering the potential for my professional growth. I really care about self-development, and I do see myself managing bigger operations and bigger projects. I thought that at Webbing, I would have this opportunity, and indeed I do. So, it was a good choice.

My work here as a business analyst combines all the topics that I learned in my BA and my master’s: it’s about finance, analytics, working with raw data to make insightful business decisions. So, it’s totally a fit and I’m having the time of my life.

People come to the office with a smile

While working at KPMG, I was a consultant, so I came across a lot of companies – fintech, banks, venture capital and various other companies in the financial spectrum. I saw how these companies worked, so I can say that at Webbing things are happening quite differently.

That’s something I’ve never seen before, not in the companies I worked at nor at the big and small businesses I consulted. I saw companies where people were anxious at work, scared of their own shadow. At Webbing, I see people coming to the office with a smile on their face.

Every door is open here. Communication within the company goes on without filters, without hierarchy, everyone can speak with the founders, Noam or Yaniv, at any time. And I feel like everyone is on the same level, even though, of course, we have senior management.

I appreciated Webbing from day one, now I appreciate it even more

I’ve been at Webbing for two years now. To be accurate, it’s two years and two months. We’re like a community that is very nice and friendly, I felt it when I just started and I feel it now, even though the team has pretty much doubled since then.

In every department, I see very professional people from various spaces. Some of them may be experts in computer coding, and others may know a lot about how to sell the product to potential customers, I feel that I’m among professionals.

And there is one more thing. Recently I returned from a military service of seven months in total. And I really want to thank the founders, and HR of course, and Amit, my personal manager, and basically everyone in the company, they were so supportive and helpful both for me and my wife who was alone at home for seven months.

I appreciated Webbing since day one because it’s an amazing place to work at. Yet I appreciate it even more after I have returned from reserve duty. In a lot of companies they say, “we’re a family”, and okay, the whole world is one big family. But the way people at Webbing cared, and the way they treated me and my wife, and the way they always assisted in every possible way – this is what a family is supposed to do, I think. And I am grateful I’m working at Webbing, especially during these days.

I can be, first of all, me

In my work-life balance, I’d say there’s a lot of life. It’s not that I work 3 or 4 hours a day, I think it’s about average in terms of working hours. But at Webbing, I never feel that I can’t do something personal because of work. It’s not like “in our company, first and foremost you’re an employee and only after that you’re a human being”. Completely the opposite, even when we’re about to launch a new big project, or there’s an incident and you need to be on top of things. I can be, first of all, Yinon as a person who has his personal life, and with that, I also need to do my job.

I appreciate my workplace. We’re doing something that someone else is willing to pay for, and that alone means something. I really love what I do. And I appreciate the people I work with. And while we’re enjoying all these hi-tech privileges, the main thing here is not the food that we can order, or the possibility to work from home, or traveling to Dubai with the whole company. I mean, it’s very cool, but most of all it’s about doing something that I love to do with people that I appreciate in a very supportive, productive and professional environment. It’s just fun.

I’d say working here is pretty much fun. I find myself smiling a lot during the day. I mean, look, we have all had those days when we wanted to get up in the morning and just go to the beach and leave everything else behind. So, I think I am privileged to have a workplace that I love going to.
