Network Monitoring System Administrator

DESCRIPTION

Webbing is looking for a Network Monitoring System Administrator to take ownership, manage and maintain Webbing’s existing and new monitoring solutions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assess, maintain, and continuously enhance Webbing’s existing monitoring infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 
  • Proactively research, evaluate, and recommend new monitoring tools and technologies to strengthen and expand current monitoring capabilities.
  • Lead and take ownership of the ongoing implementation and development of a centralized monitoring and alerting system.
  • Administer, configure, and support existing monitoring servers and related systems.
  • Implement and integrate new network elements and solutions into the monitoring environment, ensuring proper configuration and performance visibility.
  • Define, configure, and optimize alarms and KPIs in alignment with Webbing’s business and operational requirements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, and contribute to the creation and improvement of team monitoring procedures and best practices

REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid understanding of Linux system administration principles and hands-on experience in managing Linux environments.
  • General knowledge of database administration (DBA) concepts.
  • Proficiency in executing SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with system and service monitoring, as well as general monitoring systems administration.
  • Familiarity with network management protocols.
  • Understanding of IP and cellular network protocols.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong self-motivation with a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Genuine interest in mobile technologies, IoT, and emerging technologies.
  • High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a global, cross-functional company environment.
  • Experience in configuring and managing mobile and IP network monitoring solutions is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools like IBM SANO/SevOne, Polystar Kalix, Grafana, Prometheus and Loki is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman or similar) considered an advantage.
  •  Willingness and ability to participate in on-call rotations and work outside regular business hours to ensure high system availability.
